Message from the President
Bringing together the Cité des sciences and the Palais de la découverte, universcience aims to accompany its visitors on their journey into a new century swept by huge economic, environmental and cultural changes. By drawing on the strong identity and expertise of its two component institutions, it aims to help each and every visitor, whatever their age, to find the new reference points and tools they need to grasp the complexity of our fast-changing world. And by firing them with a love of science at an early age, it aims to encourage young people to study science and technology and thus contribute to the economic health and cohesion of our society.
Focusing on spheres such as sustainable development, digital culture and new applications, and the interaction of science with the arts and humanities, universcience aims to play a key role in informal education, enabling everyone to take part in innovative projects and experiments and contribute to the ongoing debate on science and society.
universcience also aims to promote the culture of science and technology throughout France, working with a wide range of local partners, and to develop this national science network into a European and international pole of excellence.
