Café de la Cité (level 0)

Internet café with eat-in or take-away service.
Open from 10am to 6pm. Contemporary design, Internet terminals and microwaves. Selective waste sorting.

Aux Pains Perdus (level -2)

Sandwich bar.
Freshly prepared sandwiches, hot and cold snacks.
Eat-in or take-away service.
Open from 11am to 3pm.
Sandwiches and salads from €4.10, desserts from €2.90.

 

Bar des Lumières (level 2) and Bar du Forum (level 1)

Perfect for a coffee break or a quick snack.
Sandwiches, desserts, hot and cold drinks, ice creams.


All of the Cité's restaurants and cafés are accessible to disabled visitors. The sandwich bar Aux Pains Perdus also has a special lift to its hot food section. Assistance is provided on request.

Machines selling hot and cold drinks and snacks are on levels 0, -1 and -2.

Cité shop (gifts and books)

Boutique

The Cité's gift shop (main hall, level 0) stocks a wide range of science-related articles for adults and children: games, experiments, gadgets and souvenirs, plus exclusive Cité des Sciences products. You'll find something for all ages and all pockets…


The shop is also a bookstore, with a large selection of books, catalogues and magazines, many of which echo the themes of the Cité's exhibitions and forums.
Open Tuesday to Saturday 10:30am to 6pm, Sunday 10:30am to 7pm.

Car park
The Cité des Sciences car park has 1,500 parking spaces (including 32 reserved spaces for disabled drivers) and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Entrances on Boulevard Macdonald and Quai de la Charente. Headroom: 1.80 metres.
Rates: €2.10 for 1 hour, €7.90 for 4 hours, €13.60 for 24 hours.
Payment by bank card at the exit terminals or in cash at the ticket machines.

 

Coach park
Entrance on Boulevard Macdonald only. Parking for 36 coaches. Headroom: 4.80 metres.
Rates: free for 30 minutes (for setting down or picking up groups), €11 for 1 hour, €22 for 12 hours (€8 for minibuses carrying disabled visitors). Monthly, quarterly and annual season tickets available.
 

Cloakroom

Vestiaire

Cloakrooms for individual visitors and groups are available on level 0. Coats and bags may be left free of charge on presentation of a Cité ticket (or a group pass).

You can also borrow a pushchair or wheelchair (passport or equivalent ID required).

Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm, Sunday from 10am to 7pm.

A cash distributors (ATMs) is available inside the Cité on level 0.

 

 

Lost property

Objets trouvés

Lost items are held for collection by their owners for up to two weeks.
If not retrieved, they are handed over to the police station or the lost property office of the Préfecture de Police.

Model of the Cité

Visually impaired – and sighted – visitors can get their bearings in the Cité des Sciences by exploring and touching a talking scale model of the building located in the main hall.

Planetarium
For shows with no spoken commentary, audioguides for visually impaired visitors are provided free of charge at the information desk on level 0. Languages available: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. A passport or equivalent ID must be provided.

 

Argonaute submarine
Visitors are lent a free audioguide at the entrance to the Argonaute. Hearing-impaired visitors should contact the Cité des Sciences accessibility service for a videoguide with French sign language commentary. Contact: info.sourd@universcience.fr

 

Géode
Ask for an audioguide at the reception desk. The choice of languages depends on the film being screened.

Available from Tuesday to Friday and some Saturdays from 10am à 6pm. Ask at the information desk (level 0).

Guide paths for the visually impaired

Pedotactile guide paths for visually impaired visitors stretch from the metro station exit (Porte de la Villette, line 7) to the door of the Cité des Sciences. Get out at the front of the train, climb the stairs at the end of the platform, turn right twice. Follow the yellow guide path along the gallery to the entrance to the Cité. The reception desk is a few metres inside the building.
 

Note: These guide paths are intended to help visually impaired visitors get their bearings as they approach the Cité. They do not enable them to visit the Cité unaccompanied.
