Industry on your plate

Sadly, all those yoghurts you gobble up aren't really prepared by a pretty dairy maid's delicate hands! Not all of the chickens which end up on our plates have been reared in the open air! These are just advertising devices! To feed billions of men, women and children, most of the food we consume is produced in factories. Industrial processes have greatly enhanced hygiene standards and the diversity of our food while also reducing their cost.
