Cob is an ancient building technique consisting in shaping lumps of clayey earth and stacking them up to form walls.
Where is cob walling traditionally used?
In the northwest of France where rainfall is relatively high. The naturally damp earth facilitates use of the cob walling method. In addition, it contains relatively few stones, which means it is not suited to "pisé" for instance.
