Cécile Blatrix, associate professor in political science, Université Paris XIII (director of the Politics and Public Action masters programme), member of the Administrative and Political Research Centre, associate member of the Local Action Research Centre, member of the Paris Local Democracy Observatory. Her work focuses on the institutionalisation of procedures for citizen participation in public decision-making.

Daniel Boy, director of research (FNSP) at CEVIPOF, Policy Research Centre at Sciences Po (Institut des Etudes Politiques), teacher on the Sciences Po masters course. Boy conducts research in the following three areas: electoral sociology, political ecology in France and Europe, and the relationship between science, technology and society. He is part of a network of European researchers working on an analysis of the impact of biotechnologies in Europe. At Sciences Po he contributes to the administration and coordination of the Chair in Sustainable Development, directed by Laurence Tubiana.

pierre-Benoit Joly

Pierre-Benoît Joly, economist and sociologist, director of research at the INRA within the TSV research unit (Social and Political Transformations Related to Life Sciences and Life Forms). He conducts research into the development of forms of public involvement in technological assessment (public controversies, citizen conferences, etc.) as well as the relationship between science and public decision-making, with a focus on new forms of organising expertise for political purposes.

Roland Schaer

Roland Schaer, Sciences and Society director, Cité des sciences et de l'industrie. A philosopher by training, Roland Schaer founded the Collège de la Cité des sciences, a programme of conferences and debates launched in 2002. He also coordinates a European network devoted to participatory procedures in science and society debates.
