The debate on nanosciences and nanotechnologies affects all aspects of our everyday lives. How might they pose new problems? What are their potential risks? What types of precaution can be taken? And, finally, what ethical issues do they raise?

Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent, professor of history and philosophy of science at the University of Paris X, Jérôme Rose, physical chemist, Louis Laurent, physicist and Jean-Pierre Dupuy, professor of philosophy at the Ecole Polytechnique engineering school and Stanford University, give their opinion on these questions.
