An exhibit designed and produced by the Espace des Sciences de Rennes, in co-production with the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris.

Evolved from the medieval practice of alchemy whose main quest was to transmute lead into gold, chemistry is a science that explores substances and analyzes the changes they undergo. Medication, beauty products, textiles, synthetics, plastic… Every day, without even knowing it, we use a countless number of molecules with very different properties.
This exhibit was designed to let us delve into the world of atoms and become familiar with the molecules around us. The different components of the exhibit - interpretive panels, interactive modules, multimedia kiosks, and so on - help us uncover the mysteries of chemistry as we learn about the actors involved (atoms, protons, neutrons, electrons, molecules, etc.) and the rules that govern them.
