Future outlook. Development prospects

The CSI has launched a programme of renovation for its permanent exhibition areas: the CDE, the South Gallery (permanent areas, Observatory of Innovations), the Great Story of the Universe, the Planetarium.

The Foundation and its partners are major participants in the renovation of these spaces :

  • The MAIF, EDF and its foundation for the new CDE in 2007 and 2008.
  • The CEA for the Great Story of the Universe in 2007.
  • EADS ASTRIUM for the Space exhibition in 2008.
  • AREVA and Total for the Energy exhibition in 2009.
  • The SNCF, the DGA, Essilor, and the FNPCA for the 2007/2008 exhibits in the Observatory of Innovations.

The Foundation and the CSI can be proud of the growing success encountered over the past 20 years in their attempt to develop, among other things, a proximity with the general public in order to popularize science, As a partner, Michelin, taking into account its values, was determined to bring its support in the field of pneumatic technology.

Insofar as future projects after the completion of this programme in 2010 are concerned, the Foundation is currently seeking or already negotiating with other partners.

The Foundation contributes to the development of programming at the CSI, well ahead of the exhibitions per se. In this way, in the context of a programme on health, the Foundation is organizing meetings between the CSI staff and representatives of the big names in the pharmaceutical and agro-alimentary industries, to find out their outlook on the future and the general directions of their research.
The CSI staff, which is also in contact with public research organizations, can thereby get a more precise notion of current research hypotheses and directions, in both public and private R&D laboratories.
